Municipal Energy Usage 2025

Texas HB3693 requires governmental entities (including municipalities) to publish consumption and payment information for various utility services used by the entity annually.

The City of Gainesville purchases natural gas from Atmos Energy. In the Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 29,603 cubic feet (CCF) of natural gas.

The City purchases electricity from Reliant Energy, TXU, and PenTex Electric Cooperative. In the Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 3,757 kilowatt hours (kwh) from Reliant Energy; 11,895,607 kilowatt hours (kwh) from TXU; and 550,603 kilowatt hours (kwh) from PenTex Electric Cooperative.

The City purchases water from the City of Gainesville. In Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 10,338,420 gallons of water.

The total cost of natural gas, electricity, and water purchased by the City in the Calendar Year 2025 was $1,001,655.12.
