entertaining, educating and empowering zoo visitors.

Discounted Admission is $3.50 for students, $5.50 for chaperones.

                                    Students will experience a “giraffe’s eye-view” of a 4.5 acre mixed species
                                                  African Savannah exhibit from Frank Buck Zoo's elevated walkway. Join
                                                     us 10:30 AM daily for public giraffe feeding which allows students to
                                                      meet our “gentle giants” first hand ($2.00 per person). Feed friendly
                                                                            goats or curious deer and elk ($0.25 for feed).

On-Site Programming

Complete your zoo visit with an on-site Animal Encounter Program,
held in the zoo amphitheater, featuring live animals!

(Available September 1st - October 31st and March 1st - June 6th)

Our Animal Encounters Programs allow students a closer look at arthropods, birds of prey,
mammals, reptiles and more. This is a 30 minute educational presentation that explores animal adaptations, niches and is aligned with TEKS guidelines. Programs must be scheduled at least one week prior to visit.
50 person maximum per program.   to check availability.

Amphitheater Program


ANIMAL CONNECTIONS

(Elementary- H.S.)......$95 one program
($75 each for subsequent back-to-back programs)


Meet the zoo's education animal ambassadors. This is an opportunity to see and learn about several animals not on exhibit at the zoo. Explore the natural "super-human" powers possessed by animals from around the world. Students will learn that many animals have surprising and unique adaptations for survival.  Students will also discover common adaptations that link many different kinds of animals from around the world. They will have to put on their thinking caps and pay attention as they look for similarities between animals that seem, at the surface, quite different. Thus giving students new respect for the animal kingdom. Hand sanitizer supplied. 50 person maximum per program.  to check availability. ZOO KEEPING 101

(High School)...............$95 one program
($75 each for subsequent back-to-back programs)

Zoo keeping is more than rakes and shovels! Students learn about various careers in the zoo world as they get a glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes at the Frank Buck Zoo. Discover what hands-on opportunities are available to students ages 14-18 when they are enrolled in Frank Buck Zoo's  Jr. Zoo Crew summer volunteer program. 50 person maximum per program.           Off-Site Programming
 

Have Frank Buck Zoo's Education Animal Ambassadors visit 
your school or facility with an Off-Site Animal Encounter Program,
held at your location featuring live animals!

(Available November 1st - March 1st only)

Our Off-Site Outreach Programs feature a diverse group of animals which may include arthropods, birds of prey, mammals, and reptiles. This is a 30 minute educational presentation that explores animal adaptations, niches and is aligned with TEKS guidelines. Programs must be scheduled at least one week prior to visit.  Off-site Outreach Programs are $225.00 + travel (outside of Gainesville city limits).
