Applying for a Job

The City of Gainesville accepts applications for current openings only. A resume may be submitted with a City of Gainesville Application Packet.

Application packets may be submitted by fax or mailed to:

Application packets will not be accepted by e-mail.

The City of Gainesville does not keep applications "on file." At the close of the application process, or once the position is filled, all applications are returned to the Human Resources Department for retention purposes only. You must reapply for any future vacancies.

Only one application needs to be completed if applying for multiple positions that are currently open. All positions for which you want to be considered must be listed on the front of the application packet.

All City of Gainesville positions require the successful applicant to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Positions that require a valid driver’s license will also be required to pass a driver’s license check. A criminal background check will be conducted on all successful applicants.
