Transfer Station
TRANSFER STATION
The City of Gainesville Transfer Station is an existing Type V municipal solid waste management facility owned and operated by the City of Gainesville. The City of Gainesville Transfer Station was permitted by the Texas Department of Health as Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Permit No. 1030 on September 19, 1977. The facility is located at 601 North Interstate 35.

The Transfer Station accepts waste from city waste hauling vehicles, other cities authorized to use the transfer station, and the public, then transfers this waste into transfer trucks for hauling and disposal at the TASWA Disposal and Recycling Facility, which is a Type I municipal solid waste landfill. Support facilities are provided including a site entrance road, scalehouse, scales, transfer station building, citizen’s collection center for recyclables, and uncontaminated wood waste processing area.

This SOP provides guidance for facility management and facility operating personnel for daily operation of the City of Gainesville Transfer Station. This SOP also includes provisions for facility management and facility operation personnel to meet the general and facility-specific requirements for the waste acceptance rate.
