The City of Gainesville accepts applications for current openings only. All positions are subject to close without notice. A resume may be submitted with an application. The disclosure authorization form must be submitted with each application for employment.
All City of Gainesville positions require the successful applicant to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Positions that require a valid driver’s license will also be required to pass a driver’s license check. A criminal history will be conducted on all successful applicants.

The City of Gainesville does not keep applications “on file.” At the close of the application process or once the position is filled, all applications are returned to the Human Resources Department for retention purposes only. You must reapply for any future vacancies.
Only one application needs to be completed if applying for multiple positions, but all positions for which you want to be considered must be listed on the front of the application.
