As part of it's Lifetime of Safety campaign, Oncor will deliver customized storm saftety kits to elderly and disadvantaged Gainesville residents in cooperation with Tri-County Senior Nutrition Project's Senior Nutrition Activity Program (SNAP) on Friday, April 4. The kits are designed to help these consumers prepare for spring's often severe weather. Donated by Oncor and Joe Walter Lumber Co., the kits include a crank flashlight (a flashlight that does not run on batteries), pen, notepad, bottle of water, and a storm safety card with safety tips and outage reporting information. Safety is Oncor's No. 1 priority, during the storm season and year-round.
Lifetime of Safety is a year-round campaign promoting monthly electric safety tips to Texans. The award-winning program highlights storm safety during the months of March and April, two months known for some of the worst weather in Texas. For more information on LOS or to download your own storm safety card, vist www.oncor.com/safety.
Oncor would like to thank Joe Walter Lumber Company for providing materials for the storm safety kits. Joe Walter's is located at 705 W Hwy 82 in Gainesville. Joe Walter's has been providing building materials to Gainesville residents since 1947. |
