Weekly residential collection, brush (tree trimmings, limbs and branches) and bulk waste is provided during your regular collection week. Residents should have all household waste curbside, no more than 4 feet from the curb, no later than 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. A maximum of 8 cans, bags, or boxes will be picked up. Limits do apply to these collections:
Brush or limbs - Residents may leave small accumulations of one cubic yard at the curb for pick-up on Wednesday. One cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet. All small accumulations of one cubic yard must be in an approved city container and no more than 4 feet in length and in bundles weighing no more than 40 pounds. Contact General Service for these pickups.
Yard waste (grass clippings) can be bagged in plastic or paper bags and added to your regular container for collection. (Tip: Leave your mulched leaves and clippings on your lawn to return nutrients to the soil).
According to City Ordinance, residents must remove solid waste left at the curbside. A yellow tag left on the door of the resident will serve as notice of heavy or unusual accumulation. The resident has 48 hours to remove the materials before the City crew does so at a rate of $ 24.15 per cubic yard. Residential waste shall be placed at the location designated by the City no earlier than 6:00 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day. Do not block or impede a street, water or gas meter, drainage ditch, or sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk.
IMPORTANT: The City shall be the exclusive provider of residential waste and commercial waste, rubbish, and refuse collection and disposal service for all residential premises and commercial premises and establishments within the city.
