Appliances such as television, stoves and water heaters are collected curbside (at the street, not the alley) on a scheduled Wednesday. There is a fee of $24.00 per item and you will need to call to schedule these items for collection. Place items at least 4 feet away from other obstacles including mailboxes, gas meters, fences and trash containers and away from overhead objects. Do not block or impede a street or water or gas meter, drainage ditch, or sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk.
Any appliance, such as a refrigerator or air conditioner, which once contained a refrigerant must have the refrigerant removed by a certified professional prior to collection. A state approved ‘clean certificate’ must be attached to the appliance before it will be collected. You may also haul direct to the TASWA Landfill. Call (903)564-1295 or go to their Website for more information.
To locate a professional certified to remove refrigerant from appliance check the yellow pages of the phone directory.
