Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located at 200 South Rusk in Gainesville. 

Meeting notices are posted on the outside bulletin board which is accessible to the public twenty-four hours each day at the Municipal Building, 200 South Rusk Street. City Council meeting agendas are posted 72 hours prior to the meeting to allow the public to know what business will be transacted at the meeting.

City Council meetings are shown on a tape-delayed basis on the local Government Access Channel, broadcast on Channel 2.
