The Keep Gainesville Beautiful Board assists in establishing a city-wide policy for decreasing the amount of loose refuse in the City. They promote an interest in the general improvement of the environment of the City of Gainesville, to initiate, plan, direct, and coordinate problems for litter control in conjunction with and in cooperation with citizens, government, businesses, and industries within the city limits of Gainesville.
The Keep Gainesville Beautiful Board is responsible for:
1) planning, initiating, and coordinating community-wide efforts to achieve its goals;
2) soliciting and accepting donations, appropriations, or money, services, products, property, and/or facilities expenditures and use by the Board for the accomplishment of it's objectives as approved by the City Council;
3) making recommedations to the City Council, as well as to the private sector, regarding measures which it deems necessary to accomplish the objectives of both the City and the Board.
