The Gainesville Recreation & Tourism Management Board of Directors aids, assists, and acts on behalf of the City in the performance of its governmental functions to promote the comon good and general welfare of the City, incuding, without limitation, the financing, construction, ownership, and operation of recreation, education, and cultural facilities (the "Facilities") on behalf of the City and to perform such other governmental purposes of the City, including, without limitation, a zoo, water park, a variety of mechanical amusement devices, exhibits, education, cultural programs, and other facilities that promote the quality of life, tourisim, and retail trade as may be determined from time to time by the City Cuncil of the City, and within the following geographic area of the City, to wit: Leondard and Moffett Park, as the boundaries may be amended from time to time, in furtherance of the promotion, development, encouragement, and maintenance of employment, commerce, economiic development and pulic facility development in the City.
