Municipal Energy Usage 2018

HB3693 requires governmental entities (including municipalities) to publish consumption and payment information for various utility services used by the entity annually.

The City of Gainesville purchases natural gas from Atmos Energy and in the calendar year 2018, the City purchased a total of 41,606 cubic feet (CCF) of natural gas.

The City purchases electricity from Gexa Energy, Reliant Energy and PenTex Electric Cooperative. In calendar year 2018, the City purchased a total of 1,289,130 kilowatt hours (kwh) from GEXA Energy, 7,619,585 kilowatt hours (kwh) from Reliant Energy, and 330,006 kilowatt hours (kwh) from PenTex Electric Cooperative.

The City purchases water from the City of Gainesville. In calendar year 2018, the City purchased a total of 15,931,360 gallons of water.

The total cost of natural gas, electricity, and water purchased by the City in the calendar year 2018 is $962,832.88.
